I received my MSc and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Perugia in 2004 and 2008, respectively. My MSc thesis was developed during an internship at the Integrated Systems Laboratory (IIS) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. During my PhD I spent one year as a visiting student at University of Bristol working in the Pattern Analysis and Intelligent Systems group. My PhD dissertation was about a novel theoretical and algorithmic framework for learning with structured data. After my PhD I joined the Idiap Research Institute, Martigny, Switzerland, where I stayed one year as a postdoctoral researcher. Then I moved at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, Italy, where I work as researcher in the TEV team. From January 2011 I am also an Assistant Professor at University of Perugia.
